They stretch! (In a good way)

OK listen ladies, I took a BIG chance on these. I ordered them from Canada so I had to pay a fair bit of duty on them (no they don't ship to Canada - you have to use a third party courier for that). But it was WORTH IT!
I am 5'7", 155lbs, very average build and a true shoe size 8.5. I read the reviews about sizing up but this was NOT necessary for me. My feet are wide so when I first put them on they were quite snug across the widest part of my foot, but within 30 minutes of wearing them around the house they had softened into the shape of my foot and became very comfortable. Had I sized up they would have been too long.
In addition to this the Wide Leg is exactly what I have been looking for. I have always loved Frye boots but they don't even come close to these when it comes to a wider leg.
My calves are 16" at their widest and these boots give me a solid extra inch of room. Totally room for a knee sock! I like the loose look but if you are my size and want them to fit snug to your leg, the wide leg might be too wide for you. The upper leather is soft and maliable so you can scrunch them down for a slouchy look, but they stay perfectly in place when straight upright as well.
It's obvious these are HIGH quality leather boots and absolutely worth the price! These are the boots I have been dreaming of for YEARS!!

These boots are beautiful! They are also very comfortable. Having first ordered the regular calf width, which were a slightest bit tighter than I wanted, I ordered the wide calf. There is a difference in the finish of the upper edge in which I was a bit disappointed. And, they are too loose. But, I love them and will tolerate the lack of finish on the top edge.
