"I own several pairs of your shoes/boots and I love all of them. My recent purchase of the Illiad doesn't disappoint and is another great addition to my footwear lineup. "Was skeptical of the fit as many people say the chukkas run narrow and I have wide-ish feet. However they slip in and off with ease and have plenty of room once inside! Very comfortable and the fit and finish are superb with a nice subtle leather smell. Very happy with the purchase!"

They run small

"I typically wear a 12 or 12. 5 shoe. I notice in some reviews it's mentioned the shoes run small, none that stated they run large. The 13 is the largest bedstu has, and it is a snug fit. Not comfortable at this moment, if they don't break in on their own, I'll get the stretchers out. If' your are an actual 13 or larger, this shoe will likely not work for you. However, it does looks good."

"I'm very pleased with these shoes. They're handsome and stylish; I've dressed them up and down. And extremely comfortable. (The size chart provided didn't work for me - with the measurement of my foot, I started with a 12, but I ended up with an 11, a half size smaller than I usually wear. ) Perhaps the best part is that they make my closet smell like a leather shop!"

"My recent experience with BedStu has unfortunately been more frustrating than satisfactory, highlighting significant concerns with both order fulfillment and customer service. The core issue began with receiving an incorrect order – instead of the Iliad Black Rustic in size 12 that I had purchased for my husband, we were sent a size 13 shoe. This error was compounded by an attempt to modify the shoe to appear as a size 12, including altering the size label on the tongue, while neglecting to remove the original size 13 sticker from the bottom. This oversight not only reflects poorly on quality control but also on the company’s transparency with its customers. Upon contacting BedStu for a resolution, their response was disheartening. I was informed that exchanges were not possible at this time. Although they offered to waive the shipping and handling fees for the return and to refund my purchase, this solution does not address the primary concern of receiving a modified and incorrect item. The gesture, while appreciated, feels insufficient given the nature of the issue. My husband has long been a supporter of BedStu, attracted by their reputation for quality footwear and unique designs. This incident, however, has significantly impacted our view of the company. Effective customer service and accurate fulfillment of orders are crucial to maintaining trust and satisfaction. Unfortunately, this experience has revealed shortcomings in both areas. I had hoped for a straightforward resolution that would allow us to continue supporting BedStu. Instead, we are left with disappointment and a refunded purchase that does not compensate for the inconvenience and misleading modification of the product. It’s essential for BedStu to address these issues promptly and improve their service and quality control processes to prevent similar situations in the future. Thank you for addressing this matter, and I sincerely hope that this feedback contributes to positive changes within BedStu."

Illiad features a cemented sole. If you are looking for a dress shoe with a welted sole, I recommend checking out Fierce or Carter.
Hi, Can you please tell me what piece of the Illiad shoe are vegetable tanned? Are all the leather components (insole, inner lining, and outer)? And if not, what type of tanning process is used for those components, specifically chrome, aldehyde (chrome-free?), or other? Thanks!

The leather used in our footwear is vegetable tanned using pigment-free, plant-based tannins and dyes derived from natural sources such as tree bark, leaves, and other plant materials.
