Rescue Program

 Your BED|STÜs have weathered many miles with you, and the years of wear are starting to show. Now you've come to the all-too-familiar crossroads — do you toss them, or do you put them in the back of your closet where they will never see the light of day?

Let us make your decision much easier by introducing you to our brand new BED|STÜ Rescue Program. We have been testing and refining our repair facilities over the last two years, readying our team to provide you, our loyal patrons, the highest quality repair service and best craftsmanship in the industry. Our faithfulness to BED|STÜs manufacturing standards and creative origins are at the core of our repair and restoration techniques. The care we will take with your shoes, boots, bags, and accessories to bring them back to life is our greatest honor, and keeping them out of landfills is at the heart of our sustainable and carbon neutral philosophy.

All you have to do is what you’ve always hoped you could do — let us help rescue your favorite BED|STÜs and give them a brand new life.

1) CHOOSE A PACKAGE
Please select a Rescue service package from the available options below and proceed with the regular checkout process. During checkout, you will be prompted to provide a shipping address where we can return your item(s) once the rescue is complete. Additionally, after placing your order, we will send you an email requesting clear images of the problem area.
2) SEND IT IN
Using the prepaid shipping label that will be sent to you with the confirmation of your order, send your item(s) over to us! We recommend placing them in a box or bag inside of the shipping box, to protect against damage in transit. Please remember to remove all personal items that you wish to keep (custom inserts, laces, etc.).
3) TO THE RESCUE
Once we receive your item(s), we’ll work on the rescue! Depending on the service requested, expect to wait about 2-6 weeks. If necessary, we will contact you about any potential issues or concerns prior to starting service.
4) HOMEWARD BOUND
When the rescue is complete, we'll send your item(s) back to you along with a confirmation and shipping information. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your newly rescued BED|STU’s!

The Process

Disclaimers & Notices

If you know that your items are over 5 years old AND/OR have been repaired by another repair shop, please submit a custom quote instead of selecting a package. If, after you've purchased a package and sent your items in for rescue, we deem them unrepairable, we will contact you to determine what you would like to do. We can return/ship the items back to you or recycle or donate them to keep them out of a landfill. Please note that certain items may not be eligible for retouching or refinishing to their original colors or finishes, such as our Tie Dyes or Lux Finishes. Feel free to contact us with the specifics of your items so that we can give you a better idea of what to expect. Please do not send your items in without choosing a package/service from the website and using the label provided to you to ship. We are not responsible for lost items shipped outside of the BED|STÜ Rescue Program.

FAQs

1) How long will it take to repair my item(s)?

This depends on what kind of item it is, and how much needs to be repaired. You should expect to wait about 3-6 weeks (from when your item(s) arrive at our facility) for the repair to be completed and the item(s) sent back to you. For any individual or specific repair requests, the time frame will depend on the request, but should generally be no more than a 6-week turnaround.
2) Do items repaired through the BED|STÜ Rescue Program have a warranty?

The work we perform will remain under warranty for 90 days. Please note that this warranty is only applicable for components that were specifically repaired in our shop, and does not cover existing wear and tear unrelated to the repair process nor repairs done through other shops. For example, if you receive resoling services and the sole begins to separate from the upper within 90 days, we're happy to bring your shoes back in for re-evaluation. If you have specific questions about what is covered under our repair warranty, feel free to send us an email with a description and photos of the issue to help@bedstu.com.
3) Can the BED|STÜ Rescue shop repair any brand of boot or shoe?

As of now, we can only repair items made by BED|STÜ, but we are working towards being able to accept other brands as well. We use original parts and materials whenever possible. Due to their constructions, BED|STÜ Workshop items may only be eligible for limited repairs. Please reach out to our repair team with any questions about the viability of a repair request.
4) Can all items made by BED|STÜ be repaired?

This depends on how and when the item was made and the level of wear, but we should be able to accommodate most repairs. We ask that you request a custom quote (instead of choosing a package) for any repair requests on items that are 5+ years old and/or were repaired by another shop. If you have questions about whether your specific style can be repaired, please contact our customer care team at help@bedstu.com.
5) How can I tell if my item(s) can be repaired?

Footwear with cracked insoles/lasting boards (normally not visible to the naked eye), as well as items with torn, cracked, and/or excessively worn/weather-damaged leather usually cannot be repaired. If you are unsure about whether your item(s) can be repaired by our Rescue team, please submit a request for a custom quote or reach out to our customer care team at help@bedstu.com.
6) Can the BED|STÜ Rescue shop fix my footwear if I’ve had them repaired by another cobbler or repair shop?

There may be specific cases where we are unable to repair footwear that has been repaired by another cobbler or repair shop, subject to how the previous repair was done. We advise all customers interested in our services to call or email with specifics relating to previous repairs or excessive wear.
7) Can my boots or bag be re-dyed?

Yes, we can re-dye or touch up most items, depending on the color and finish on them. Certain specialty colors or finishes may not be eligible for their original dyeing or finishing, such as our Tie Dyes or our Lux finish, among others. Please feel free to reach out to us with the specifics on your item(s) so we can give you a better idea of what to expect.
8) How should I ship my item(s) to the BED|STÜ Rescue shop?

Shipping (both ways) is included as part of our Rescue Program. Upon order completion, we will send you a shipping label to send in your repair. Please do NOT use your own label to send in your repairs. Remember to remove any non-original laces or footbeds you would like to keep, and any other personal items before sending your item(s) in to our repair shop. We are unable to return any of these items and will not be responsible for loss if they are left with your item(s) upon arrival at our shop.
9) What happens if my item(s) cannot be repaired after I've sent them in?

If we determine that your item(s) cannot be repaired for any reason, we will contact you to see how you would like to proceed. We can send them back to you or recycle them, depending on your preference. You will also receive a refund for any balance paid in advance for the Rescue service.
10) What does the "Leather Re-Seal" protect against?

This treatment protects against light exposure to water. It does NOT waterproof your items and will not protect against general water damage. To keep your shoes, boots, or bags in pristine condition, we advise that you keep them away from water and other liquids, as sealing does not protect the leather from warping, shrinkage, or other damage caused by excess exposure to liquids.
