Frequently Asked Questions

  • Vegetable-tanned leather is made using a traditional tanning process that relies on plant-based tannins instead of synthetic chemicals. The result is leather with natural depth, subtle variation, and plenty of personality. It ages well, which is more than most of us can promise.

  • Yes, BED|STÜ does offer repairs for eligible shoes and bags. Please contact customer service or submit a repair request so our team can review your piece and share the available options.

  • We use plant-based dyes because they align with how we believe leather should be finished: with respect for the material, the maker, and the person who wears it. While plant-based dyes can be less predictable, that is exactly why we like them. Mixed in our own factory, they help us create rich, dimensional color while allowing the leather’s natural grain and markings to show through.

  • Because real leather should look and feel real. Every BED|STÜ piece is made with 100% vegetable-tanned leather, our own plant-based dyes, traditional construction techniques, and artisan hands, which means natural marks, color variation, and texture are not flaws. They are proof of the process.

We choose the best materials and make things the harder way because we believe leather goods should have depth, soul, and a story that gets better with wear. Genuine, Unique, Imperfect is not just what we say. It is what happens when real things are made the right way.

Ideal Sling Bag

"I've been looking for awhile for a useful and stylish sling bag that could take the place of my regular purse when out hiking or making a quick trip to the store or park. This is a really nice quality bag, lots of room for the compact size and holds everything I need for the day. The leather is soft and buttery and the styling is very eye catching. I've already received several compliments and requests where I got it."

Beau Bag

"Awesome bag! The leather is perfect!"

— Nicole (5/5)

Almost perfect

"I have searched nearly my entire 58 years for the perfect handbag. This is sooo close. The two things that keep it from being the perfect bag… I don’t love the clip over the top of the bag. In order to fully open the bag you have to unclip it. Also, it would be so helpful If the main zipper was a two way zipper. Things I love… the size, the front side zip pocket (fits my phone perfectly), the key clip inside, the adjustable strap, and finally, the leather. Amazing quality."

— Brenda S. (5/5)

This bag is LIFE!

"Until this bag, I had yet to find a sling type bag that was practical, organized, and comfortable to wear! This is it!!!! I purchased the Beau in the "Future Dusk Black Delux Black Rustic" colorway! She is STUNNING and smells soooo good! Nothing to think about, just PURCHASE IT! :) P. S. I also purchased the Cadence and she fits perfectly in the slip pocket behind the front pocket! In LOVE!"

Q&A

Future Dusk Black Delux Black Rustic… is this a purple black color in the Beau? Im undecided between this and the rustic black.
Future Dusk is a beautiful indigo base with Black Lux hand applied on top. Our Lux Finish is inspired by the unique appearance of the light dusting of flour on the freshly baked loaves of artisan bread. We took this inspiration back to our factory and developed our unique Lux finish. This finish is applied in a way that allows it to distress based on the wearer. Just as flour on bread can be dusted off, this crackled finish will continue to patina over time.  Applied by hand, layer-by-layer, no lux finished product will distress the same way, creating a true one-of-a-kind look for each person.
On the Beau icicle nectar lux the photo with the model looks like a different color. Is it? Also, what pair of shoes is she wearing? Thanks!
Icicle Rustic is a gray-taupe color. It will look more taupe or more grey depending on the lighting. The shoes the model is wearing is Lucrative.
