These boots aren't made for walking.

This is a follow-up review of the Hoover boot. In my previous review, I mentioned some concern regarding the long term wear of this particular design from Bed Stü. I regret to inform those reading that my concerns have been proven correct. After 4 months of use, the heel soles on both boots has worn down to the point the boots are unusable. I wouldn't say I walk any more than the average city dweller, (maybe 2 miles a day), but I had hoped that a pair of boots at this price point ($145) would have held up longer than they did.

Let this be a lesson that quality may cost a bit more than $145. I still love the Bed Stü styling though. So they've got that going for them. Which is nice.

Great boot, but not fabulous.

This boot is my third purchase from Bed Stu. Big fan of the Loop Boot; have two pairs. I was hoping to find a third pair, but the color option of the most most resent iteration didn't vibe with me. So, I went with the Hoover.
As I mentioned before: great boot, but not fablous.

Pros: True to size. Slick design and very well made. Breaks in easily, (though slightly worried about the long term wear). The soles feel nice and functional. The contrast of black on tan pairs well with a wide variety of styles.

Cons: The thickness and quality of the leather does not match Bed Stü's older lines. The "worn" aspect of the boot looks inauthentic with its overall shiny finish. Needs a banded toe cap for when the leather begins to crease with wear.

The verdict: Great boot for the price, but you might have to spend a little more for a fabulous one. Until Bed Stü brings back the Loop Boot with more color options, I'm content with the Hoover.

I like the subtle reference to the Depression era that this boot pays homage to. They fit true to size and the leather is top notch. I wear them every day and like looking at the "imperfect" finish they have. You can dress them up or down depending on what pants you're wearing, and they're great any way. Recommended!
